Description
The course analyzes different aspects of online communication when it comes to its users. In particular, it covers user requirements elicitation, content/services quality evaluation, usability, and usages analysis. Different strategies of user requirements’ elicitation will be presented, ranging from more formal ones – interviews, focus groups, etc. – up to more creative ones, entailing co- or participatory-design. Usability, its various definitions and the different approaches to its assessment will be presented. In particular, students will be presented with the eye-tracking methodology, having the possibility to experience an eye-tracking session. Usages analysis will be discussed and closely linked to the business/communicative goals of the online publisher.
The assessment will be undertaken in a form of collaborative group projects (30%) and a written exam (70%).
