Biography

Laura Pozzi joined the Faculty of Informatics, Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) as Assistant Professor in 2005. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Processor Architecture Laboratory of EPFL, a research engineer with STMicroelectronics and an Industrial Visitor at UC Berkeley. Laura holds an MS (1996) and a Ph.D. degree (2000) in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Her research interests include embedded processor customisation, compiler techniques for customisable processors, coarse-grain reconfigurable fabrics, and in general application-mapping onto unconventional architectures. She has served in the Technical Program Committee of the International Conference on Compilers, Architecture and Software for Embedded Systems (CASES), the International Conference on Hardware-Software Codesign and System Synthesis (CODES), the Design, Automation and Test inEurope Conference and Exhibition (DATE), among others. She has served as CoProgram chair in the IEEE Symposium on Application Specific Architectures (SASP). Laura is the recipient of the 40th IEEE Design Automation Conference (DAC) Best Paper Award. She currently teaches three courses at USI: Automata and Formal Languages, Advanced Computer Architecture, and Privatissimum.
