Institute of Management (IMA)
IMA´s research is organized in two broad research centers CORe (Center for Organizational Research) and CEFF (Center for Entrepreneurship and Family Firms).
- CORe The main focus in CORe is macro-organizational theory, including population ecology and industrial and corporate change. CORe is one of the largest academic groups in this area in Europe. Other areas addressed by CORe are change management, organizational aspects of technology, organizational performance, behavioural operations management, applications of social network analysis, competition and energy markets. CORe receives its main funding from the Swiss National Fund (i.e. the Swiss National Science Foundation).
The Institute is responsible for the teaching of management across the Faculty and the University covering degrees from Bachelor, Master, Executive Master to PhD courses. The institute is also responsible for the administration of a number of degrees at the master and executive master level. IMA has a well established seminar series MORSE (Management and Organizational Research Seminars) which meets at least bi-weekly but often weekly during the semester, and includes a mix of internal speakers and external guests.
