Biography

Igor Sarman obtained a PhD in Economics in August 2016 at USI with a thesis entitled “Understanding the impact of risk perception in leisure tourism-related decisions and the role of attitudes and preferences”. From 2011 to 2022, he was Research Fellow and took part in the Tourism Observatory at the Institute for Economic Research (IRE) in USI dealing with the analysis of tourism demand and supply in the Ticino region as well as researching on topics of general interest in the framework of regional accommodation and hospitality sector. He was Teaching Assistant for the bachelor courses in Microeconomics at USI and he teaches the courses of Economics of transport and mobility in tourism, and Quantitative methods for tourism studies at the Fondazione Campus in Lucca, Italy (University of Pisa). In November 2021 he took the role of Research Data Manager at USI, supporting the scientific community in the management and use of research data, advising in the preparation of a Data Management Plan in the context of research projects and collaborating in the implementation of an institutional Open Research Data strategy.
