Biography

Dr. Angela Windholz, after graduating from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, studied at the Humboldt University Berlin, where she graduated and gained a PhD in Art History. She received a doctorate scholarship for the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome (Max-Planck-Institut für Kunstgeschichte), and two postdoc scolarships, one from the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence (Max Planck Institut) and one from the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. In 2008 she became scientific collaborator on the SNSF project on the archive of Heinrich von Offenberg. In 2010 she is appointed Head Librarian at the Biblioteca dell'Accademia di architettura. In 2016 she graduated from the Scuola Vaticana di biblioteconomia with a diploma. She works on the history of art academies and the training of artists and architects in the modern age, subjects on which she has published books and articles.

Since 2016 member of the steering commettee CNBA (Coordinamento Nazionale delle Biblioteche di Architettura)
