Description
The course examines how to listen to the past starting from its ruins, from its remains, from the violence of history. Public memory has now gone beyond the concept of a “monument” in various ways, which paradoxically produces oblivion. The problem is not “only” to commemorate ? for example the genocide of the Jews ? but to oppose further exterminations thanks to our knowledge of this terrible past. Activation of memory in this way will be explored during the course, not least because it is considered of great importance in designing a different kind of future city.
