LAB1: Photography as a Negotiation Space (MSTAA)
People
Description
The aim of the workshop is to produce the first item in a sort of visual guide to architecture and urban planning in the Mendrisiotto. It will cover major logistic centres and infrastructures, natural landscapes, places of social focus or preservation of the cultural heritage, and the most significant architectures. The aim of our photographic account will be to bring them to the attention of a broader public. In the course of the workshop we will also make a brief excursus into the history of the different photographic technologies (with various types of cameras, lighting and printing), photography exhibitions, in particular those dealing with architecture (starting from the great ideological exhibitions of the 1920s and ’30s), and the publishing graphics associated with artists’ photo books.
