Introduction to Sustainable Design
People
Description
The course will convey a basic knowledge and understanding of sustainable and integrative thinking and acting in architecture: its reasons, fundamentals and principles and their application in architecture and design. The course will alternate between lectures and practical applications: the group tasks during the semester will establish a direct connection with the work in the design studios - centered on housing. In the end the students will be able to develop their own “do it yourself certification system” - a personal value system to assess their own design projects in regard to sustainable and integrative thinking.
