Project BSc3-I: Various Typologies
People
Description
The course proposes three project areas in northern Italy, three public markets in Milan, Turin and Genoa. The market has a tradition going back thousands of years as a place for the exchange of goods between citizens and for meeting; it is an urban space, a structure that combines the economy of pragmatic constructions with the decoration and festive representation of a public activity. They are places of our daily life. The three markets are non-air-conditioned architectures with a variable programme between 3,500 and 5,000 square metres: Mercato Sempione, Milan; Mercato della Mole, Turin, Mercato della Rotonda, Genoa.
