Religions and Philosophy

The course explores the relationship between philosophy and religions (above all, monotheistic religions). After reconstructing the religious situation in our time, the various moments of this relationship throughout history will be explored, the various models of philosophy of religions developed so far will be discussed, and the ways in which philosophy of religions can be done today will be described. At the end of this course, the student will be able to give a clear and articulate answer to the question: what is the philosophy of religions?

• knowledge of the relationship between philosophy and religions in history
• knowledge of the various models of philosophy of religions developed in history 
• analysis of the way in which the relationship between philosophy and religions is developed today
• awareness of the use of philosophy of religions to foster interreligious

At the end of each course, the student must take a written exam. It focuses on the topics covered during the course as well as on the texts listed in the recommended bibliography.
The exam consists of 5 open questions. Each answer must be 3.000 characters long, including spaces.
The exam paper must be uploaded onto the dedicated area on the eLearning platform, during the one-week-long exam session. Dates can be consulted in the academic calendar.
