The purpose of the bachelor project is to give the student an opportunity to work independently to develop the solution to a significant (i.e. large) problem. The student must learn and demonstrate both independence and a systematic approach to problem solving. The number of credits is 18 ECTS; that is, the amount of work expected is equivalent to 3 typical bachelor-level courses. The students are expected to work throughout the semester under the supervision of their project advisor on the substance of the work. The students also meet regularly as a group with the Bachelor Project Coordinator to receive instructions about the purpose and mechanics of implementing a long-term project. At the end of the semester, the students produce: - A project report - A poster and poster presentation - A product (if applicable) such as an algorithm, a software library, or application.
