During the conception and design of a building we are faced with its contemporaneity: the technological means available, knowledge of construction, good practices and the regulations of this precise historical period. When we choose materials and construction techniques, we are already faced with future problems concerning maintenance, durability, physical resistance to atmospheric agents and wear. The construction detail is the development of a clear conception of an architectural idea with respect to its Zeitgeist, and is destined to be projected into time. The detail is not just a technical exercise to be solved, but the inseparable correlation between the idea and its materialization, between the initial architectural concept and the building that arises from it, which must last for years to come.
