Description
The course will focus on the reflections developed within the Frankfurt School, this year with particular but not exclusive attention being paid to Walter Benjamin, concerning aesthetics and the arts, and especially architecture. These themes will also be explored by starting from an analysis of the project by the architects Brivio and Tami for the Horkheimer and Pollock houses built near Lugano. The educational content of the course will be enriched by the fourth edition of the Max Horkheimer International Encounters, to be held at the Cantonal Library of Locarno (30 November-1 December) and devoted this year to the thought of Walter Benjamin, with the participation of some of the leading international experts.
