Description
Urban transformation projects have an aesthetic-formal dimension that is at the core of the learning process of architects. Yet urban transformation projects generate social (and economic) effects on the basis of which the local community assesses their social rationality – and authorises their implementation. By analysing significant urban transformation projects that have been implemented in Berlin after the German Reunification, the course will put students in condition to understand the relationship that links urban transformation projects to cities’ development strategy.
