Description
On the occasion of the major exhibition Louis Kahn and Venice in the new Mendrisio Theatre of Architecture, the course will present a series of lessons and lectures devoted to the Master's work, given by historians and architects. An analysis of the exhibition by the curators will bring out many aspects of the unbuilt project for the Palazzo dei Congressi in Venice: the relation between the city on the lagoon and modern architecture; the encounter between Kahn and Carlo Scarpa; Kahn’s collaboration with the engineer August Komendant; the study of the original drawings and much else. The subsequent lectures, some held in the central space of the Theatre, will broaden the perspectives with a wide range of contributions.
