Description
Focused in part on the historiographical reception of Lombard artists in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, the course will analyse architecture and the visual arts in the Milanese territories during the centuries of Visconti, Sforza, French and Spanish rule (1300-1550). The study of the most important sacred buildings in the Duchy will also enable us to explore topics related to the management of construction sites and workshops, the role of the engineer-architect and its evolution in the Lombard context, relations between artists and clients and the connection between centre and periphery.
