Description

The course focuses on the study and classification of space structures. To ensure a correct theoretical basis, it starts by presenting the principles underlying the analysis of hyperstatic structures. Subsequently, plane structures are superimposed on each other and projected into space. Cable and membrane networks result from the combination of individual cables. Vaults, domes and shells are obtained by combining arches. Analogously there follow compensated thrust funicular space structures, space lattices, hollow-core slabs and inclined slabs. Given the complexity of the themes presented, the course is limited to fundamentals, without going into a detailed analysis of individual structures.
