Description

The course covers a few structural elements that are fundamental in architecture. The main goal is to provide the basics for the understanding of structural design in an architectural project. The construction process and its influence in structural design will also be subject matter. The course is divided into lectures, a written group work and an excursion on the subject of arches. Each group will analyze a building with an exemplary structural design and try to understand and describe its key principles. These works will be discussed as part of a presentation.
