Methods and Techniques of Architectural Restoration (MSTAA)

Description

The course examines theoretical and practical aspects of the historical and monumental heritage, providing tools, methods and techniques to understand the architectural organisms of the past and to define the most effective interventions for their conservation. The course aims to provide the students with the objective and critical elements necessary for a full comprehension of the different theoretical and practical approaches. The course is structured in two ‘sections’: in the mornings there will be theoretical lectures, including contributions from guest lecturers; while the afternoons will be devoted to exercises on a case study, through the analysis of the materials collected during the preliminary research and developed during the semester, the debate on the theory and practice of restoration, and insights into the operational tools.
