Arts and Techniques from Gothic to Renaissance

People

Moizi M.

Teacher

Description

By analysing the most emblematic cases and partly with a seminar approach, the course will reconstruct the main aspects of the history of art and architecture from the late 13th to the early 16th century. Focusing on the relation between centre and periphery, it will bring out the causes and consequences of the movements of artists and works and explore the theoretical and more purely practical aspects of creating art and architecture from the Gothic to the Renaissance: artistic techniques, management of building sites, dynamics of the workshop, development of the role of the architect and relations between artists and patrons.
