Project: Various Typologies

In the autumn semester we will work on a site in Lugano that holds significance for the way it can be developed and the impact this will have on the surrounding area. The studio will address the theme of ‘palazzine’ and consider this as a building type. In the first instance, working in pairs, students will develop an urban strategy plan. This will then be developed more precisely in detail. Our work will address questions relating to contemporary housing and the evolving image the city and the need to achieve densification.
