Description

The studio is framed as a twofold exercise. The students are initially provoked to produce a document that records their understanding of the haptic qualities of a space in which they feel centered; it is in a way a brief for the way in which one wishes to dwell. Once this is realized, they are then prompted to an exchange in which they hand it over to a fellow student, who will use it as a device to develop a house for himself, herself or otherwise. We see this as a self-practice that enables us to traverse boundaries at a time that seemingly presents us with constraints, prompting us to shift our gaze to bridge spatial and temporal gaps.
