Description

Already in the late nineteenth century, the builders who first combined concrete with steel bars in building structures not only had to conduct research into structural form, but also had to understand its functioning in order to determine the positioning, direction and quantity of reinforcement needed. Relying on the instruments acquired in the basic course, so enabling students to understand structures as a whole, and after introducing the properties of the two materials, the course will explain the functioning of the various kinds of structures in reinforced concrete. Students will thus acquire the knowledge necessary to understand existing reinforced concrete structures and devise new ones.
