Advanced Construction Systems and Materials
The course is divided into two teaching components: the first consists of lessons/lectures which will contextualise and describe case studies of industrialised and Open Building prefabricated architectures, from the 1970s to the present day, as well as offering seminars with professionals active in international research in this sector; the second will require students to analyse in depth some typical details of recent innovative buildings and will involve experimenting with strands of research applied to innovation in the case studies assigned.
The aim is to inform students about the main logic and processes behind the most important lines of research in the field of advanced and/or innovative building materials and systems, in order to enable them to achieve a greater awareness of the architectural consequences of certain construction and material choices.
