Lexicon of Architectural Critique

People

Pedretti B.

Course director

Description

The course deals with a series of “fundamental concepts” for their use both in architectural criticism, in theoretical teaching and in design workshops. The purpose of the course is to foster the connection between the linguistic repertoire used in the disciplinary debate and the "words" that accompany the student in learning design competence. The "keywords" include: art, author, work, modern, morphology, typology, project, space, model, style, function, structure, landscape ... Starting from a core of about twenty fundamental concepts, the course develops an interpretation inspired by the methods of the history of ideas, aimed at clarifying the architectural meanings and relationships with other disciplinary fields for each item.
