Gianluigi Negro is Post-Doctoral Researcher Fellow and Editor Assistant at China Media Observatory (CMO) at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). He is author of The Internet in China From Infrastructure to a Nascent Civil Society (Palgrave, 2017). He is member of Global Internet Governance Academic Network (Giga-Net) and the Italian Association of Chinese Studies (Associazione Italiana Studi Cinesi, AISC). He is currently a Sino Swiss Science and Technology vising fellow at Peking University, School of Journalism and Communication for a research project on the Chinese Internet imaginary. He is in the scientific committee of the EU China dialogue on media and communication summer school organized by Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and the School of Journalism and Communication at Peking University. Gianluigi researches focus on Chinese Internet history, Chinese internet governance and Chinese media history. Between 2017 and 2018 he conduded a reserach at the School of Jounrnalims & Communication at Tsinghua Univeristy, between 2018 and 2019 he has been visiting scholar at the School of Jounralims and Communication at Peking University. His two research projects were funded by the Sino Swiss Science and Technology program.
