Alberto Nones teaches within the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Lugano, where he is affiliated with the Laborario di Studi Civili. He graduated in Philosophy from the University of Bologna in 2002, earned an M.Sc. in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and received his Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Trento. He was Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher at Cambridge University and Fulbright and Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton University. He previously taught at the University of Trento, Teramo and at the United Arab Emirates University.
His research expertise is in political theory and communication, with a special focus on the relationship between music and politics. A piano graduate of the Conservatory of Trento, he is also active as a pianist and musicologist.
His publications include three books and various chapters and essays.
