Student at Ghislieri College in Pavia, 1976 Graduation with 110/110 cum laude, Luigi Einaudi Foundation’s Fellow (Turin), Accademia Lincei’s Fellow (Roma), CNR’s Fellow at Historische Seminär University Basel (CH); since 1981 Researcher of Contemporary History at the Faculty of Humanities of Pavia University, then Associate Professor and, since December 2010, full professor of Contemporary History in the same university (Department of Humanities). Member of the Sissco, member of Cisui’s and Foundation Rossi-Salvemini’s Scientific Boards.
Research topics: Italian anti-fascism abroad (France, Switzerland, United States). Switzerland and Italy in nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Institutions of fascism. Contemporary History of Lombardy. History of Italian University. Academic migrations and Elites’ Formation in Europe (XIX-XX centuries). Head of research units funded by the Ministry of National Education (MIUR 2001-‘04 and PRIN 2007-‘09).
