Benjamin Michel Lerch
I am a PhD student in Economics at the Istituto di Economia Politica of the Università della Svizzera italiana. I graduated from the University of Bern in 2018 and completed successfully the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics for which I was awarded the Doctoral Student Award in 2019.
I study the impact of automation technologies on labor markets focusing on the labor supply decisions of displaced workers and educational choices of young individuals in response to technology shocks.
My fields of interests are labor economics, education and technological change, as well as environmental economics and industrial organisation.
