I started my PhD at ICH in July 2014 and was assigned the FNS research project (nr: 100019_153526) titled "More Informed, More Involved: the roles of psychological empowerment and health literacy for older patients' participation in health care".
The research proposal includes a fund of three years to devote to three different studies aimed at investigating older adults' decision making processes.
Apart from the main project, I am conducting other studies with a focus on the concept of Social Isolation among the elderly, and I have recently published the following research article in BMC Public Health (Sak et al., 2016) on the topic of online health information quality (i.e., content analysis of vaccination-related webpages).
I plan to finish my PhD dissertation, which is based on my SNF project, around July 2017.
Apart from the research duties, I am currently teaching assistant of the seminar "Research methods" at the bachelor level (second year, prof. Peter Schulz), and assisting different master students writing their master theses (mainly focused on the content analysis research approach).
