Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society
Description
The Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society is the only one in Switzerland and among the few in Europe to offer an all-round education in communication, with a fully interdisciplinary approach. The study curriculum covers the spectrum from the fundamentals of the discipline to cutting-edge specialization, with a view to turning out not simply communication generalists, but leading specialists in particular sectors of the field. The Faculty aims to prepare communication experts operating in five major professional contexts: media, business, public institutions, education, and information technology. In accordance with the Bologna system, the study programme encompasses a Bachelor’s degree (three years), Master’s degrees (two years) and a research-oriented PhD programme in three years. A remarkable array of research is conducted by the faculty through its institutes and research laboratories, in areas pertaining to linguistics, education, media, health communication, psychology, information technologies and corporate communication.
