Description
This course covers advanced topics in high-performance computing, simulation theory, computational statistics and time series analysis. It spans an area that historically would operate in the interface of computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, and machine learning but the increased complexity of computing requires collaborative efforts from multiple points of view to address relevant problems. The course covers research topics in the area of Computational Science, Net-centric Computing, and Statistics & Data Science.

Learning methods
Every participant has to present one of the papers that are defined by the course instructors. Additionally, students are required to read the paper that is presented in class beforehand and actively participate in a discussion during the class.
Examination information
The final grade is based on the presentation and class participation.
