Project II: Atelier Blumer

Description
During the spring semester, the studio will be involved, through the work of the students, in designing and creating exhibition architectures, display machines intended for presenting an exhibition devoted to a great Milanese designer, Giancarlo Iliprandi. The exhibition will feature materials from the Iliprandi archive deposited at the Archivio del Moderno Foundation of the USI.
The projects will be displayed on the premises of the ADI Design Museum in Milan starting from June 2025.
In this way the students will be called on to explore, through their models, a “post-industrial” space as well as the drawings and achievements of an important designer.

The method will be developed around the realisation of study models up to the realisation of what has been defined as Exhibition Architecture. The scale of intervention from model to final may vary from 1:2 to 1:1, in order to bring the young designers to the challenge of dealing with reality and not only with representation.
Examination information
The final exam will be the delivery of exhibition projects through the construction of full-scale working prototypes.
(Intermediate critiques will be important,
at which time, the professor will decide how to evaluate the development of the projects )
