Project II: Atelier Borella
People
Description
The students’ task will be to design and actually construct the project, measuring their design intentions against the limits of the available resources and their constructional and manual skills.
The students should have an interest in and inclination for manual labour, and be familiar with elementary techniques of building and bricolage, or the desire to learn them.
Objectives
Starting from awareness of our common disorientation, the studio proposes that students work on a feasible project, preferably a useful one, in a specific nearby location, focusing on the themes of energy and the use and reuse of resources, favouring its practical, somatic, meteorological, and thermal dimensions.
The students will work in small groups. The single projects, developed through reciprocal dialogue, will constitute parts of a broader whole.
