Applying AI for Communication in Tourism and Fashion

Description
The course will cover three blocks:
The first block will introduce students to important concepts and techniques in Natural Language Processing, and AI in general. By getting a better understanding of how these systems are built, students will be able to better see the opportunities and risks that these systems bring.
The second block will focus on the responsible use of AI tools. We will discuss several risks, such as bias and lack of diversity and creativity in LLM output, and issues regarding sustainability.
The third block will be reserved for the introduction of a wide variety of AI tools that are particularly useful for students in tourism and fashion.
Objectives
The aim of this course is to give students a level of understanding of AI tools needed to use these tools in a responsible and adequate manner. We will discuss both opportunities and risks associated with such tools and delve deeper into a few use cases relevant for international tourism and digital fashion communication.

Learning methods
Each class is composed of a lecture and a hands-on session, in which students gain deeper understanding of theoretical concepts by means of running code or doing other exercises.
Students should bring a laptop to all classes.
Examination information
The final grade is composed of graded exercises (40%) and a written exam (60%).
