Abstract

The purpose of the DigCorpCos platform is to present the findings and research data of the research infrastructure “Corpus Cosmatorum II,” which investigates the architecture and liturgical furnishings of 132 churches in Rome from the 11th century to the end of the 13th century. Although the contents of the five volumes published so far are open access, their digital discoverability and accessibility need optimization and curation. For this reason, a digital platform hosted on the institutional website of USI (Accademia di Architettura) has been created (OS-ORD Project 2023-25) based on a georeferenced map of Rome. https://corpuscosmatorum.arc.usi.ch/it/chiese The DigCorpCos platform provides access directly to the research data stored on DaSCHRepository as high-resolution images and other documentary material. Each medieval church includes short abstracts in Italian and English, plans, and photographs. For each church where research has been completed, a PDF of the scholarly chapter is available for download via the platform. The DigCorpCos-02 platform has to integrate the forthcoming new results published in volumes 6-8, which is to say from September 2026 onwards. Some API updates have to be completed to adapt expected innovations introduced by the DaSCH repository, and research filters have to be refined. This interactive and intuitive platform is useful for diverse audiences, including interested laypeople such as tourists (Citizen Science) and specialized scholars, as well as serving as a learning tool for university students.
