COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course presents methods and tools to manage modern information systems where ERP is seen as one of the component which needs to be integrated with other internal and/or external systems. The course presents the evolution of the ERP systems from the seminal work as MRP to the so-called Post-modern ERPs including the role of cloud and service orientation. With Archimate, a tool for modelling Enterprise Architectures, the course provides a method for taming the complexity of a modern information system which needs to be distributed, flexible, as well as scalable. Examples and case studies will be discussed in class with the goal of clarifying the methodological guidelines provided during lectures. The evaluation consists of a written exam and a project assignment.
