Ivona is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Università della Svizzera italiana.
She is passionate about family businesses and organizational theories. Her research interest focuses on decision making in family businesses, with particular attention to the concept of Socioemotional Wealth. She analyses how family firms’ decision-makers switch their reference point from financial to social and emotional when faced with a potentially risky choice. Ivona uses surveys to analyze employees’ involvement in family and non-family firms, and experiments to understand decision-makers’ behavior.
Ivona is one of the founding members of the Association of Family Businesses Ticino (Associazione delle Imprese Familiari Ticino – AIF Ticino) and the organizer of the Global STEP Summit for Family Enterprising 2017. She is a fellow of the STEP Research Project - Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices Project.
Before joining IMO, She received her Ph.D. and Master’s in Management at USI and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Tourism Management at the University of Torino. She has gained practical experience by working for consulting projects and several start-ups.
