Carla is a doctoral candidate at the Università della Svizzera italiana. Currently she is doing a visiting period at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
She is passionate about gender theories and organizational research. Her research interests lay at the intersection between gender inequality, career advancement, and social networks. She is particularly interested in how workplace dynamics perpetuate gender inequality within the modern corporation. She looks at pharmaceutical companies and uses patent data to analyze collaboration patterns, organizational gender composition and individual outcomes.
She has served as teaching assistant for various courses at the master and doctoral level, such as Human Resources, Analytical Sociology and Research Design. During her Master’s she was also a tutor for System Simulations and System Dynamics courses.
Before joining IMO, She received a Master’s in System Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Business Engineering. She also has gained practical experience as an analyst in the financial industry.
