Biografia

Carla is a PhD candidate at the Università della Svizzera italiana. During her PhD, she was a visiting student at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. 

She is passionate about organizational theories and social network analysis. Her research interests lie at the intersection between innovation, social networks, and gender inequality. She is particularly interested in understanding how workplace dynamics perpetuate or limit gender inequality within research-intensive corporations. She looks at pharmaceutical companies and uses patent data to analyze collaboration patterns among scientists, and organizational gender composition and its effect on scientists' performance.

She has served as a teaching assistant for several courses at the master and doctoral levels such as Organizational Behavior, Strategy, Human Resources Management, and Research Design. During her Master’s, she was also an instructor for System Simulations and System Dynamics courses.

Before joining IMO, she received a Master’s in System Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Business Engineering and have gained practical experience as an analyst in the financial industry.
