Marco Tonellato



Marco Tonellato is currently a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer at the Institute of Management in the Faculty of Economics of the University of Lugano (Switzerland) where he works under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Lomi. His research interests include the analysis of social networks within and between organizations, open innovation, and the dynamics of problem-solving and group learning in online communities. In his dissertation he investigates the social and cognitive mechanisms contributing to the emergence of structure, attention allocation and transactive memory systems in open source software projects. His work has been published in Organizational Research Methods, Research in the Sociology of Organizations and in edited collections. He has been a visiting researcher at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, from September 2012 to February 2014. He holds a PhD and a master's degree from the University of Lugano and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Padova (Italy).
