Abstract
RE-ACT (social REpresentations of community multimedia centres and ACTions for improvement) è un progetto di ricerca in collaborazione tra il NewMinE Lab dell´Università della Svizzera italiana e il Dipartimento di Matematica e Informatica e il Centro di Studi Africani dell´Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (Maputo, Mozambico).Attraverso l´uso del costrutto delle rappresentazioni sociali (Social Representation), RE-ACT vuole studiare la concettualizzazione dei CMC (Community Multimedia Centres) in Mozambico da parte dei rappresentanti delle associazioni che gestiscono i CMC, dello staff locale, degli utenti e delle persone delle comunità che non usano i CMC. I CMC in Mozambico sono un particolare tipo di telecentro associati a radio comunitarie che trasmettono in lingue locali, il cui scopo è di provvedere alle esigenze di comunicazione e informazione nelle comunità locali come fonte di sviluppo. Il modello dei CMC fu creato dall´UNESCO (con il supporto della SDC - Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation).Il programma ebbe inizio nel 2001, quando, in una fase pilota, 40 CMC furono aperti in 15 paesi in via di sviluppo in Africa, Asia e nei Caraibi. Nel 2004 ebbe inizio la fase di implementazione a grande scala dei CMC, con la selezione di tre paesi in Africa (Mali, Mozambico e Senegal) per la creazione di una rete nazionale di 505 CMC. Al momento in Mozambico i CMC sono di proprietà e gestione soprattutto da associazioni locali.Lo scopo del progetto è quello di sviluppare uno strumento per fotografare la dimensione extra-tecnologica, che ha impatto sulla sostenibilità, studiando la consapevolezza e la comprensione che diversi gruppi sociali hanno dei CMC. Per studiare le discrepanze non allineamenti della concettualizzazione, questa ricerca muove dalla prospettiva della teoria delle rappresentazioni sociali. Un ulteriore scopo è quello di proporre specifiche azioni per il miglioramento a partire da queste rappresentazioni sociali.
