Biography

Ahmed Hussein Abdelrahman Adam (Ahmed Adam) Professor of Archaeology in the Department of Archaeology, University of Khartoum, my interest area is Historical Periods, Medieval, Classic, as well as regional archaeology, beside Heritage, and Museums in Sudan and Africa, now Director of the Red Sea and Suakin Project for Archaeological, Cultural, and Environmental Studies also Co-Director with Dr Michael Brass (Institute of Archaeology, University College London) of the UCL - UofK Expedition to the Southern Gezira (Sudan): Mobility, identity and interaction of pastoral peoples with the Nile Valley which is re-examining the site of Jebel Moya, in south-central Sudan, the largest known pastoral cemetery in sub-Saharan Africa, and field director of Khandaq medieval city project for archaeological and ethnographic research. Between 2017 and 2020 was head of the Directorate for University of Khartoum Museums. And also, a Director for Training and Teaching Assistant at the University of Khartoum from 2021 to 2022, and coordinator of Sudan in the General Union of Arab Archaeologists, held honorary appointments and fellowships at the Forum Transregionale Studien in Berlin, the Center of African Studies, University of Cambridge, and Exeter University in IAIS in the UK. And now visiting professor at USI attended and presented many papers in many conferences in Europe, Africa and Arab Countries, I published widely in regional and international journals.
