Marcelo José Da Silva Sampaio

Father Marcelo José da Silva Sampaio was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1969 and has been a member of the Mar a Dentro Catholic Community since 1995. Before entering the seminary, he obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering at the Centro Federal de Ensino Tecnológico do Rio de Janeiro and a specialisation in Computer Systems Analysis at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Ordained priest on 6 January 2007, since 2008 he has been responsible for the Lugano Mission of the Mar a Dentro Community. Within the Community he now serves as Chancellor and Member of the General Council. On an academic level, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Theology in 2006 at the Centro de Ensino Superior Sagrado Coração de Jesus (São José do Rio Preto-SP), a Master's degree in Comparative Canon Law in 2010 at the DiReCom Institute of the Faculty of Theology of Lugano, a Licentiate in Canon Law at the San Pio X Faculty of Canon Law in Venice (2012), and a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology at FTL (2014). At the Faculty of Theology of Lugano he is currently a doctorate student in Dogmatic Theology and assistant of the Rector.
