Abstract
Due to economic globalization and international mobility, an increasing number of professional activities requires a deep competence in intercultural communication (IC), competence that can not be confined to some pragmatic formulas but requires:
1. Knowledge of communicative, psychological, social and cultural mechanisms which are the basis of IC problems and potentialities.
2. Enough familiarity with the appropriate communication methodologies and tools.
3. Ability to apply methodologies and tools of IC in specific contexts like institutions, media, business.
The objective of this project is to develop a multimedia course that meets the needs of competences outlined in points 1, 2 and 3. The I2C course will be offered to approx. 900 students belonging to project partner Universities (Neuchâtel and Geneva) and ¿user¿ partners (Universities, Universities of Applied Sciences and other Institutions eg FOSIT). It will also be used by several students from other disciplines and faculties and in lifelong learning programs.
