Abstract
The Workshop IdEP in Sustainable Economics (WISE) is a three-day networking event focused on sustainable and applied economics. It promotes interdisciplinary exchange among young researchers on topics such as environmental, labor, gender, health, and development economics. The target audience for the workshop consists of PhD students and postdocs from Swiss and international universities.
The goal of the event is to expose PhD students and postdocs to state-of-the-art research in applied economics, as presented by the keynote speaker Prof. Ludovica Gazzè, while creating a professional network and fostering future collaboration with early-career researchers from other universities.
Organized and managed by USI PhD and Post-Docs under the supervision of Prof. Jametti, this student-led initiative supports the development of essential soft skills crucial for both academic and non-academic career paths, while also strengthening USI’s reputation as a hub for sustainability research. Additionally, the workshop utilizes internal resources, such as Casa della Sostenibilità, effectively integrating sustainability into both the academic and social aspects of the event.
