Abstract
Building on our previous treatment of human normativity, based on the concept of responsibility, we argue that: (i), the psychological infrastructure allowing people to enter relationships of responsibility is rooted in human affectivity, and in particular in certain types of emotions; and (ii), that different aspects of responsibility, and with them different types of emotions, are involved in small-scale, interpersonal normativity, and in large-scale, agent-generic social norms.
