Master of Arts in Italian Language, Literature and Culture (MLLCI)

Description

Since the the academic year 2007-08, the Institute of Italian Studies offers a Master in Italian Language, Literature and Culture, inviting lecturers from Switzerland, Italy and wider Europe, who themselves embody, throughout their research path, the parable of a "language sweet and flavoursome, built with the sounds of solidarity" (O. Mandelstam, 1933).
In the Master courses, the study of Italian language and literature develops in constant dialogue with arts and history, in the belief that Italian civilization can be the memory of a shared perfection, a way of thinking, which is capable to embrace the "universals" of human condition.
Besides the option of pursuing an academic career (PhD), the Master's programme prepares for several professional careers: teaching Italian language, literature and culture in Swiss schools or elsewhere; library and archival science; museum management, the conservation of artistic collections and heritage of our collective memory.
