Anastasios Stathis, born in Larisa (Greece), 1977, one daughter, medical doctor, graduated at the University of Pavia, Italy, specialty in medical oncology (University of Insubria, Varese, Italy and Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland, Bellinzona, Switzerland), clinical research fellowship on new drugs development at Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada, staff medical oncologist, head of the New Drugs Development Unit and chair of Clinical Research of the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland (IOSI). Fully devoted to clinical cancer research with main research focus the development of new anti-cancer drugs. PD Dr Stathis has served as Principal Investigator for several clinical trials focusing on drug development (mainly phase I studies) and on lymphomas. Member of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Vice-President of the New Anticancer Treatment Project Group of the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK). Section editor in clinical research of Critical Reviews in Oncology Hematology. Dr Stathis has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals including Annals of Oncology, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Discovery, Lancet Haematology and co-authored in other publications.
