Regina Bollhalder Mayer

Biography

Regina Bollhalder Mayer is a specialist in French language and literature. She was a lecturer at the University of Basel (1998–2011) and subsequently taught at the Wirtschaftsgymnasium Basel until 2024.

Her research focuses on fin-de-siècle French literature. She is the author of "Eros décadent. Sexe et identité chez Rachilde" (Paris, Champion, 2002). Her scholarly interests also include the work of the Swiss writer S. Corinna Bille.

In 2009, she was appointed Chevalier in the Ordre des Palmes académiques in recognition of her services to French culture.

She has been teaching at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) since 2007. She has taught the courses “Francese settoriale” and “Culture and Writing in French”. Since 2015, she coordinates the Choix Goncourt de la Suisse project with USI students, under the patronage of the French Embassy in Switzerland.

She currently leads the course “Français de la mode” within the Master in Digital Fashion Communication (DFC).
