Biography

Paola Crivelli is a Lecturer of French Language at USI since 2018.   After graduating in Humanities (Licence ès Lettres) at the University of Lausanne with a focus on General History, French and Spanish, she has been active for about ten years in academia, notably working for the Historical Dictionary of Switzerland as an editor and translator. In teaching since the year 2000, she gained a very various experience with learners of all ages and levels.


Parallel to teaching, Paola Crivelli works as an interpreter-translator at the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) in the field of asylum procedure. Her work draws on multiple inputs including linguistic aspects related to migration phenomena, language varieties within the Francophonie and in the Hispanic world, geopolitics, history and historiography, cinema, fashion, and art in general.


Paola Crivelli also maintains a musical activity thanks to many years of training in classical singing.
